About Just|BE in short
The Just|BE 72-Hour Black LGBTQ Film Competition is the first of its kind. The contest is a nationwide competition where filmmaking teams composed of one filmmaker, one poet and a crew have 72 hours to write, shoot and edit a short film inspired by original Black gay erotic poetry and promotes HIV/AIDS awareness.
1 Filmmaker, 1 Poet & a crew come together to write, shoot, direct and edit a short film based on an original Erotica poem in 72 hours= 3 days, 4320 minutes, 259200 seconds. Are you up for the challenge? Register Now!

Just|BE is a 72 hour international Black LGBT erotica film and poetry competition that focuses on HIV/AIDS prevention within the Black community. Both Gay and straight Professionals and emerging artists will have an opportunity to bring Black LGBT erotica poetry to the screen in a creative 5 minute film. Films produced will explore intimacy in a inventive way.
Erotica Definition: Just|BE defines Erotica as a work of art (poetry, photographs, literature, films) that evokes sensuality, intimacy and/or sexual feelings.
Producers • The Just|BE film competition produced by Queer Black Cinema & Our Stories productions will take place at The LGBT Community Center, which is located in Manhattan’s trendiest and gay-friendly neighborhood, Chelsea. The contest will commence on Friday, August 17th to Monday, August 20th.
